First time mom support group???

Does anyone know of any first time mom support groups in Atlanta? I have a 6 week old. I don't have any family out here and would really like to meet people that I can relate with since none of my friends have children yet. Any suggestions? I already signed up for a class at Gymboree but I'd like to see what else is out there.

    I found a very active group of mom's with kids around my DD's age on meetup.com. That might be a good place to search. GL!

    I'm looking for something similiar - I have a 3 week old, and also don't have family close by.   I'm considering trying a Oh Baby Fitness class just to meet some other people.  If you have any luck finding anything, let me know!

    Not sure where you delivered but maybe look into a hospital?  I delivered at Kennestone and they had some kind of "Mommy and Me" group that met once a week that I started going to just a few weeks after my DS was born.  It was nice to talk to others and they had a comfortable room where everyone hung out with the babies (lots of gliders to sit in).  I think this was just for the community and it didn't matter if you delivered there or not.  You could check out other Wellstar hospitals if that is not close to you.  It was in the list of classes that you can sign up and pay for but this was free.  Good luck!

    I totally agree with the Kennestone group.  I went there after my first and it was a great place to talk about all things new parent and meet some great friends.  It is open to everyone, I did not deliver there.
