Success after IF

feeling overwhelmed (not in a good way)

this is basically a huge whiney post. i had the boys to myself this weekend, which was mostly a lot of fun, but also truly exhausting.  asher has decided he doesn't so much like to sleep through the night anymore, and he was up on friday night at 3:30, 4:15, and 6:30; and last night at 4:30 and 5:30 and 6:30.  i am having trouble sleeping as it is, and now can't fall back to sleep after he wakes up, so i am seriously tired.

we just got a bill from the hospital for benjamin's ER visit for "nursemaid's elbow"- $478, due on the 20th, on top of all our bills for the holidays.  fortunately, they let us do a payment plan, but i have never had to do that and feel kind of embarrassed not just having the money all at once.

i also woke up with a rash on one side of my face. no idea where it came from. i am so itchy. so i'm going to the dermatologist, who our insurance also doesn't cover, so we can pay another bill.

also, my clients are flaking out because of the holidays and i won't make as much money this month as i usually do, on top of our owing more than we usually do.

i am just trying to remind myself that all this will pass- the money will be fine, i will sleep again, and we are fortunate to have a warm home, a lot of food to eat, and family to love.

Re: feeling overwhelmed (not in a good way)

  • ugh...I'm so sorry.  Money stress is not cool....it is its own special brand of hell.

I'm glad that the hospital is working with you!  (and I hope Asher starts sleeping better soon!!  its so rough when they revert out of the blue!!)

so...does business pick up in January?  It seems like its such a time of self examination and people wanting to change things, that maybe it would?  (just curious) :)

  • (((Hugs)))  It sounds like you truly have your hands full.  I hope that things calm down for you soon and that you can get some rest and relaxation.  Last week was a tiring week for me with the kids so I can identify with that.  Having twins is a lot of work!  Of course it's so rewarding, as well, but it can still be exhausting too.  Hang in there!

  • I feel your pain, different complaints of sorts, but many in the general area.  I find it so hard to focus on the big picture!  I feel like I'm treading water most days.  Hang in there and we'll get through it!

it usually does- most people feel really let down after the holidays, and it is dark and dreary so they come in more.  i am definitely counting on it!

  • This time of year is tough.  I feel like we are bleeding money right now with Christmas shopping, lots of parties that involve us getting sitters, lots of dinners out, bills, vacations to pay for...it is just a lot!

    Hang in there, momma!!

  • I'm so sorry.  I am having a lot of the same feelings.  Some croney from my RE's office called me on Friday and told me I "owed them $11,768.13 and how do I want to pay it?!"  I have insurance so I am *almost* sure this will be cleared up but I just started bawling.  I feel like there is so much on my plate right now and that was just the straw that broke the camels back.

Rationally, what you (and I) are going through is pretty normal I think and in many ways we are so blessed because it is so much worse for so many-- AND yes, it will absolutely get better.  BUT, it is so hard to be rational when you feel like the walls are closing in on you.  Hang in there!!
