Story time is no longer fun

I used to love reading books to LO before bedtime. Now due to teething, all he wants to do is suck on the books when I'm trying to read. If I don't let him, he flips out. Last night I tried to give him a nuk during story time in hopes he'd be happy sucking on that. Nope, he wanted the book still. Anyone else going through this? I obviously want to continue reading but our story time always turns into chewing time! Let's just hope this goes away after this teething stage.

For awhile we would give her one of the books to chew on while the other was read. Then switch. Now she mostly sits contently.

This is what we do. I have a couple different books or teething toys for her to gnaw on while we read.

eh, I just let him chew for a bit, then turn the page and let him chew again. We use a lot of the soft, cloth books at stages like these so that he's not chewing on cardboard and ink.

Awww, poor LO. I give J one to chew on and I lie down next to him and hold the one I am reading over his head to look at. Works for us.
