Another teacher holiday gift question

DS goes to a Montessori school with 2 teachers (small, one class school).  I am planning on giving each teacher a $100 gc to target, plus baking some cookies with DS for them.  There has also been a 3rd teacher in the classroom for the past 3 months as one of the main teachers had to take time off for a medical issue.  This teacher has been PT most of the time.  Should I just give her a smaller gc ($25 or 50?)  I'm sure I'm over thinking this!  Also, if you are a teacher, would you rather have baked goods or a small gift (with the gc)?  I'm planning on doing the cookies as I've seen a lot of parents bringing in small gifts (plants, coffee mugs) so I figure the teachers might be running out of room for these things.

 Thanks for your opinions!

  • cookies are always welcomed in our school.  and I think a smaller gc would be fine, even $10-$20 would be fine.

This.  I hate baking so this year I'm buying big popcorn tubs and putting small popcorn bags together.

  • I would prefer cookies. And my first thought was wow, those are really generous gift cards. If it were me, I would do something for the teacher that has been there for the last couple of months as well.

  • I can't imagine giving that much on a gift card to a teacher. I don't even do that much for each family member. I guess if you have the money then it's no thing to you but that just seems like a ton.

  • It is a lot of money for the main teachers, I agree. But they run the school themselves ( very small independent school) and both have had personal or family health issues this year that have taken a strain on them. So yes, it is more than I'm spending on siblings or parents, but I want to help make their holiday season better. They take fantastic care of DS and have taught him so much.
