Searing / burning / aching pain across top of uterus/below boobs?

I just had to google after weeks of this feeling a lot like a "Chinese burn" that I feel across the very top of my uterus/under my boobs.  I am constantly reaching down to adjust my bra because it almost feels like a poorly fitted bra just digging in and irritating the skin there....but it happens even when I don't have a bra on AND it's not where my bra hits when I do have a bra on.

When I googled I found a lot of other women posting about it on various chat boards, all commiserating, but I wasn't able to find a reason.  Anyone else have this?  And, better yet, anyone know what it's all about?  I have my next appt Tues morning and of course will ask my ob/gyn, but in the meantime...

  • Me, me, me!!! This is by far the most uncomfortable and painful part of my pregnancy so far. I notice it's a lot worst when lo is sitting up high on my ribs so I'm guessing it from all the stretching and pressure. That entire area feels bruised and sore.

  • I never had this with my first, but it is G-d AWFUL!!!  It's even tender to the touch at times - it feels like I have a third degree burn (OK, it feels like what I might imagine a third degree burn to feel like).  It's hard to even concentrate at times, it gets so bad.  Painful and irritating and distracting....  WAH!!!!!

  • I've had the same thing for what feels like forever.  My OB said its from LO stretching and pushing on my ribcage.  He said its something you just have to deal with.

  • I have been getting this too--but only on my right side in a very concentrated spot.  It feels like a burning/stinging sensation and when it happened last night it felt like I was oozing blood or something (I'm not, it just felt like that).  It's so weird.  I have an appointment today and am going to ask my OB.

  • I have had this same sensation on my left side right about where I have the ugliest stretch marks ever.  It burns horribly and hurts to touch it.  I have assumed it is just LO stretching out since the pain is right where my biggest stretch marks are.  Nothing seems to soothe it.  I have just been using bio oil to keep my skin hydrated.

  • I had this also-had it with my last pregnancy as well. Feels like a rugburn under your skin. My OB told me it's the muscle layers separating from being stretched so far. Nothing you can do about it unfortunately!
