Warner seems to be over the worst part of his cold, but his nose is still pretty runny. He doesn't know how to blow it yet and refuses to try and to complicate matters he won't let me wipe it anymore without a fight. I have boogie wipes since those are so much more gentle, but I still basically have to wrestle him to get near his nose.
So right now he's the kid with a disgustingly crusty nose. And he's constantly sniffing which is driving me insane.
Any suggestions?
Re: runny nose :-(
DS has a little cold.
I just wipe whenever it gets really bad. I usually catch him off guard and just wipe really quick. I try not to wipe too often since it will make his nose raw. DS hates saline spray with the passion of a thousand fiery suns.
I'm interested to see if anyone has any novel solutions.

T still won't let me wash food off her nose after about a month of nasty crustiness where her nose was raw from too much wiping. She briefly allowed me to put Vaseline on her nose (one of those little pots of it that's perfect size for a 2 yo's hands to hold, and we called it GOOP, which is a word she loves!)...that helped her nose be a little less painful. Sometimes she'll wipe her nose herself to keep me from doing it, which is better than nothing.
We're working on teaching her to blow her nose, which isn't going great, but she was a little more open to it after seeing an episode of Special Agent:Oso where he teaches a kid to blow his nose. You could try to find that for Warner.
I usually hold them down, kicking, crying and screaming and wipe away. It's it's crusty I use a wipe, if not just a tissue. Then I smear with Aquaphor as it usually helps the crustiness not develop, plus it keeps their nose from getting raw. Both kids don't like the saline, but with DD2 (15 mo) we still use it. We also use the Nose Frida on DD2 which works so, so well and, I think, hurts less then a regular suction. I just had my nose suctioned after my sinus surgery and it hurt like mo'fo, so I can see why kids don't like it.
I have no advice but I'm sorry he's been so sick. We all have crusty and snotty-nosed children sometimes so I don't think any other mom's will be judging you.
