if you make your own baby food, what container(s) do you use for sending food to daycare? do you leave utensils at daycare? i keep putting DS's spoons in a ziploc baggie so they don't get dirty but the baggies never make it back home so its incredibly wasteful! there's got to be a better way that I'm simply not thinking of
Re: food & daycare?
We have one mom that freezes her homemade baby food and sends in bags full of cubes for the week. We keep them in the freezer and only prepare what she'll eat at each meal.
Another mom asked if we could save the plastic Gerber tubs from other kiddos for her, and she washes/reuses those to send in homemade food a few days a week (as we run out).
Ask if your center has community bowls/spoons/bibs. You may not need to send in your own. We have a community stash at our school and a dishwasher in our room that we just load throughout the day.

At the very beginning I sent spoons, but they told me I didn't need to so I stopped. When I would send home made food, I sent them in Take 'n Toss containers
I bought a bunch of little 4 oz Ball Jars - https://www.amazon.com/Ball-Quilted-Jelly-Canning-Case/dp/B000VTSYA8/ref=pd_bxgy_k_img_b
If I had fresh puree I'd just throw it in there. Most of the time my baby food was frozen cubes, which wouldn't quite fit, so I'd stack them and microwave it for about 10-15 seconds which would make it just soft enough that I could use the lid to squish it all in there. The nice thing about these jars is that you can just unscrew the lid and put it straight in the microwave. I'm not a fan of microwaving plastic.
