Thanks to all of you on this board...

I am able to make a very special and unique bond with the birth mother; since I've never been able to experience pregnancy.  From reading all of your posts and being able to ask her specifically how she was feeling or if she was experiencing this or that on a specific week - she totally laughed about swamp crotch!

She just passed 35/35 on Saturday and while we were chatting she asked if I would be able to join her in the delivery room while she is giving birth to our daughter!  Tears of immense joy fell over me and I, of course, agreed!! 

I believe our friendship/bond with each other would be slightly different if you all wouldn't have allowed me to 'join' the Jan 2012 Moms board...and for that I thank you!!

    That's so sweet! 

    Thank you for sharing your wedding dress/ baptismal gown project with us.  That was seriously the most beautiful piece of DIY work I've seen on here.

    Thanks...I wish I could take even a tad bit of credit for ANY of that work; it was just an idea of mine.  My family took that idea and made it what it is.

    That is amazing and I am SO happy you get to share in that moment when your daughter is born!!!!  It's excellent you have such a good relationship with the Birth Mom!

    Yes, this will be an open adoption and we are hoping to share in all the 'big' life moments together. It will be made a lot easier thanks to Sk.ype; since the birth mother is in California and we are in North Carolina.

    That is so amazing! I think adoption is so amazing and I am hoping to do that for a least one future child! Good luck with everything!

    I was in the middle of adopting when I found out about this surprise.  I am so happy that this board has helped you develop a stronger bond with your birth mother and truely admire that you have decided to have an open adoption.  Congratulations.  Keep us updated.
