My baby is HUGE

DD has officially grown out of her 12 month outfits. (She started at 9 lb 6 oz, and was in newborn sizes for about a week. She's 8 months now.) She's been in 12 month sizes for about three months, so her growth rate is slowing, but seriously?! My cousin's two-year-old wears the same size as my 8 month old. I weighed her on Monday and she was 22 lbs, so she's only gained 1.5 lbs since last month. I'm thinking she must have gotten taller again. That would put her around 31 inches. I know it sounds dumb, but it worries me. She has just grown and changed so fast!

I'm right there with you. DS was 23.6lbs at his 6 month appointment. We're in 18mo pj's now! It's crazy! He's definitely slowed down though, he was 21lbs at 4 months.

Huge baby club! J is in 18 month clothes - no clue on height but his weight is 22+. We'll find out for sure at his 6 month appt next week

I don't think it ever sounds dumb to worry about your LO. Has she tracked the same % on the growth charts? Regardless of where she falls on it (99% or 5%), the only time to take note is when she's changing percentiles (rising or falling). If she's tracking along the same line consistently, she's just a big girl. :-)

If your doctor's not worried, you shouldn't be.

My DS was 8lb 15oz and wore size 1 diapers out the hospital. He was also in NB clothes a short amount of time. He's in 12 month clothes right now and size 4 diapers.

He's healthy, he's starting to crawl, he's got 2 teeth and my doctor isn't worried. He's just big.

and kids do change quickly

we're moving to 18 m PJs right now. He still has some 12m that fit, but not all of them. He was only in the 65th percentile at his 6m checkup but he's gotten long! Judging by our scale (holding him with myself) he's about 21 lbs.

DS is also in 18month stuff. He was 23 lbs 12 oz at his 7 month appointment. His prenatal nickname was TANK - he is living up to that.

My baby is a big'un herself. She has been wearing 18 months clothes for almost a month now. No clue how much she is weighing or how long she is, but I can't believe how much she has grown!

I'm in Opposite-Land. We just moved up into the 18th%-ile here :-) But then, he made it into NB size at about 2 months, and I missed all the little preemie clothes :-( I'm sure they're all okay as long as they're consistent.

My 8.5 month old is in 12 to 18 month clothes...she was born at 10.5 pounds.

We are in 18mo clothes too. Not so much for weight (he's 19lbs) but he's really tall.

At her 6 month checkup, DD was 21 lbs & 29" tall. She has been in the 99% tile since her 2 month. She has grown pretty consistantly.

She is in 12 mo clothes mostly too, but I find that the shirts still are snug on her. I think its because she still has all those baby rolls that I think will start to disappear once she actually starts being able to fully crawl. She is definitely a chunky rolly polly girl!
