LO hates being burped

For the past week or so, my LO screams like she thinks she's never getting any more food ever every single time that I go to burp her (which is about 5-7x/feed)!  It's incredible how upset she gets about it and it seems not to matter what position I put her in for burping.  Additionally, the screaming makes it less likely that she'll actually burp for me. 

Is anyone else having this problem?  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    DD did the same thing! Now, I usually let her get half way through the bottle before I attempt to burp her so she feels like she has something in her stomach.

    Usually the fuss lasts until she actually burps. I found out that not all babies have to burp. So after 30 seconds with no burp just continue with the bottle. At the very end of the bottle you can try longer for a burp. 

    We used to burp every 2 ounces or so, but now we only do at half way or end. Good luck!

    my lo hates to be burped too but is happy again once the milk is back in his mouth. I try to pat lightly while he is feeding so the first burping process is shorter. After he is finished eating and needs a burp he screams and I put a pacy in his mouth which calms him down and I can continue to pat him - when he needs to burp he spits the pacy out.

    Our DD does the same thing! We only burp her if she stops sucking, which is only about once per bottle. Even then, she fusses and acts pissed that we dare pull her bottle away for a second! I don't put much effort into that mid-bottle burp because I never get anything out of it. :)

    I pop a paci in her mouth while I burp her if she's screaming. Works every time. Calms her so she can burp (and I burp her on my knee). 

    But, why are you burping 5-7x a feeding??  That seems really excessive.  

    I thought that I was supposed to be burping her after every half ounce of milk... but after seeing the responses to my post, I now see that I don't have to put her through that.  That's good news!

    MY LO does the same thing.. I have luck shhing in his ear as i am burping him over my shoulder. That seems to help a bit. I also do the paci as well .. Will put the paci in for a few secs then take out and burp. I burp every oz which seems to work for me and my LO is drinking 4-5oz. At first I was doing every 1/2oz which was def too much. My ped said burp after every oz. I am sure once he drinks more and gets older it may be after 1 1/2 -2 ozs
