Is anyone's LO walking/standing?

LO can stand for a couple of seconds unassisted but not for a really long time. Just wondering if anyone else's LO's are walking. I have two friends whose daughters were both walking (e.g., standing and taking steps) by 9 months. I am assuming that this is super early and not the norm.

Re: Is anyone's LO walking/standing?

  • Nope not even close, DS doesn't even crawl yet!

  • DD has been running around behind one of those push walkers for awhile now, but not at all on her own. She'll let go and stand for seconds, 10 at the most, but then she sits back down. I'm in no hurry for her to walk.

My little cousin was not just walking, but running by 7 months. It was insanely fast and most people don't believe it until they see video of it. Most babies I know didn't start walking until at least 10 months.

  • My LO isn't walking on her own yet but she will walk if I hold her hands. She does pull her self up more and more now. However, she is still trying to figure out how to crawl. It's so cute to watch her.

  • He will walk holding our hands and can stand for a few seconds on his own or leaning against something. Not cruising yet and definitely not crawling even! H never crawled though, so I'm not too sure what to expect in that department.

  • DS pulls up on things but doesn't stand alone or walk yet.

  • DDs barely a March baby 3/30 but she is standing all alone and taking steps.  I am sad because I am missing my little baby but so proud of her.

  • No walking yet but DD has been standing on her own since approx. 2weeks before thanksgiving. And once she started she wants to be standing ALL the time. And she getting braver and standing without holding on or leaning on something then tries to but her arms up or shake a toy which usually results in falling!

Some kids never crawl- just scoot or army crawl and then go straight to walking. It's looking like my son might be one of them, but I hope I get at least a month or 2 of the bum-up crawling before he's really walking!! He's been army crawling for what seems like forever and is now obsessed with trying to walk. He loves walking with someone holding his hands and whenever he's holding onto something standing up (i.e. couch) he will turn and take steps like he's just going to walk away. He falls down, but he gets a little further each time. He also will climb the stairs if we let him.  Scares the CRAP out of me. He's fearless and never sits still  :(  I think I may have my hands full...

  • DS can not stand unless holding on to something.  That being said he IS getting brave and letting go and only holding on with one hand.  One time just recently I think he forgot and let go of the table with both hands and promptly fell on his bottom.  My mom said that my father was WALKING at 9 months!!  I couldn't imagine.  But is DS keeps this wanting to go go go, going than I wouldn't be surprised if it happened sometime before a year!

  • C crawled at 7m and a week later, learned how to pull up to standing. She was cruising around the furniture at 8m and that's all she wants to do now. She's nota big crawler, she'd much prefer to be on her feet doing circles around the coffee table.

She has unknowingly let go and stood unaided a couple times, for just a few seconds. But she's not doing it knowingly. Despite the fact that she was early to crawl and pull up, I don't see her walking unaided until sometime between 10 and 11 months.

  • DS began crawling at 6 months and cruising at 7. At around 8 months he took a step or 2 but hasn't gone past that yet (which is fine by me). DH was an early walker (9 months) so I'm not totally surprised he's so mobile.

    Same.

  • LO can stand on her own and she can walk behind a walking toy or by holding onto the couch and walking along it. I don't think it will be much longer before she is walking on her own but who knows.
  • He's standing for a few seconds on his own, but he's only walking using a push toy. I've gotten him to take a few steps, but that's it. My first son walked right before 10 months. Every baby is different and will walk when they're ready!
