Can somebody help me with stair gates?

What's the difference between top of the stair gates, stair gates and regular gates?

    Top of the stairs are made to drill into the wall, not tension like doorway gates. For safety ya know? :)

    And our top of the stairs gate is the Summer extra tall one. It's been great!

    We have the Cardinal Stairway Special gate at the top of our stairs and like it a lot.  We have a Retract-a-gate for the bottom that blocks off the foyer and stairs, and in hindsight, I wish we'd gotten one of those for the top too.  They're awesome.

    I like those! Are they pretty strong? I'm new to this stair thing.....my last 3 homes have been one story and moving to a 2 story is a whole new experience in baby proofing.
