Question about water breaking...

This may be silly but oh well.

When your water breaks does it feel like you peed? Like that mini orgasm after you've drank 4 cups of coffee and FINALLY get to empty your bladder? lol

Or is it just like Boom, covered in liquid.

For me....it felt like I peed on myself...probably because I was dry heaving and puking and every time that happened a little more came out each time.. if that make any sense??

I wish I knew haha. I think Ill be one of those women that has to have her water broken in the hospital though.

Ditto. My mom said it was just a crazy gush for her but I know that's not always the case.

Mine felt like a tiny pop, then like someone had dumped warm water in my lap. By that point, I'd jumped out of bed and run like a mad person through the house so I didn't notice any release of pressure or anything like that

Mine broke while I was in labor and pushing and it was SUPER obvious that it was water breaking and not me peeing. It didnt break until the very end and at that point the pressure was so great that when I finally pushed hard enough to break the sac I thought for sure that I had actually pooped (which I hadn't). There was also a super loud pop and a huge gush but then again my DD was born 4 minutes later so its probably different if your water breaks early in labor.

Mine broke while at the hospital. I was laying on my side kinda, and all of a sudden I just felt warm liquid running over my leg onto the bed. I didn't hear a pop or anything, it just happened. You know it is your water breaking if it is a flow you can't stop, like when you stop yourself from peeing, and if it keeps coming. Baby will continue to make amniotic fluid while in the uterus, so it will keep coming out. HTH

It felt like my uterus cracked a knuckle during a contraction, and then I felt my pants getting wet (I was sitting). When I stood after the contraction, a rush of water just fell out of my body. There was no sensation similar to peeing at all.

This! I expected it to be a big gush and then stop, but it kept going. Made it a little hard to get dressed to go to the hospital b/c everything I put on got drenched in seconds!

For me I just went pee then stood up to wash my hands and had a big gush. I didn't hear a pop and it didn't feel like I peed, just that all this water was coming out and I had zero control of it. It came in gushes with each contraction and didn't stop for my 19 hours of labour. It was a lot!!!!

Both. I had a small gush like I had peed. As soon as I got in the car to go to the hospital, it was BOOM. Thank goodness I was sitting on a waterproof pad!

This is exactly how I would explain it felt when my water broke with my 2nd. It's so much fluid that even the biggest pad couldn't contain it. I remember getting fresh clothes and a pad together and being completely soaked again within in a minute. lol So gross.
