Hi all! Just wanted to post a quick story to give potential vbac-ers that it can be done!
On Monday Nov 28, I welcomed my third child (and second VBAC following an emergency c-section with my first) into the world. He weighed 7lb7oz and was by far my easiest delivery ever - just a few pushes and he was out! He was also my smallest kid as my other two were over 8lbs each. There was no tearing or trauma and it's been a smooth, easy recovery.
I can't stress enough that the key to being successful is knowing your facts - what is possible, what isn't - and have a supportive medical team. My dr was on board for a VBAC from the get go and never once wavered. Should I have gone overdue, he was open to induction (with pitocin) since I had a favorable cervix. He allowed me to labor without internal monitoring (unlike my last provider who acted like a VBAC was a death sentence) and we never even broke the bed to deliver - it was all so quick and easy and stress free.
I'm almost sad that I don't plan on having more kids - if only all of my deliveries could have been as nice as this last one!
Good luck with your future babies!!
