Any one know what the deal is? I spent an hour online doing research and found 50% of the articles/blogs/message boards said it isn't safe and 50% said it is. I am looking to hear it is safe before I head to Whole Foods in a little bit and get some face wash.
Re: Tea Tree Oil(reposted from first tri)
That's what my OB said. Especially with facewash, since it is being washed off, it's fine. Try to avoid the area around your mouth so you don't ingest any.
Whenever I'm not sure of something, I use bing.com and then add "mayo" to the search to see what the Mayo Clinic says. Here's what they say about tea tree oil and pregnancy (at the end):

So, nothing really known. But that doesn't mean it's safe or not. I'd probably avoid if it's not a big deal to you. But then again, I've also switched from peanut butter to almond butter and no longer use face washes or toners with BHAs.
Thanks for your comments and help everyone. I am luckily not breaking out yet, but since I have never had great skin I am trying to get prepared. I know that it can be used for acne, but I can never get a consensus on whether it is healthy or not. I will ask my Doc at my first appt. on the 19th.
