First post on here - hello & intro

I know that quite a few of you came here from the nest, so hopefully someone recognizes me! DH is OOT and I could use some support right now, so I thought this would be the perfect time to join you guys.

We've been TTC for 4.5 cycles now and have been working with SRM for the past cycle. I have PCOS and have done clomid, estradiol and the 3rd hormone for 3 cycles and did the HCG shot last cycle, have had an AFC and am getting an HSG on Monday. We're trying to get pregnant before FIL passes away, which could be any day.

I know I should probably be posting on TTTC, but felt nervous to, after all the bump stories I've heard. DH and I are not sharing this with our families or many friends, so I'm hoping I can share this journey with you guys!

Re: First post on here - hello & intro

  • Welcome over to this side (the bump).  There are many here that have dealt with IF, there is a monthly checkin you can join and ask questions.  There is the weekly Preg/TTC checkin as well.

Hope your journey is short but we are all here to support you along the way.

(my daughter was from our 2nd IUI w/ Fermera and HCG shot.  I also found accupunture extremely helpful)

  • Hi there, I remember you!

There are many here who have struggled with IF, so hopefully they can help with more detailed answers. I can just offer support and welcome to this board!

  • Welcome!  I too am on the TTC journey.  My husband and I have been trying since 2009.  I find it is very difficult to share my story with family, so I try to check in every now and then on the boards!

I see Dr. Kennedy at SRM, but I have also seen Dr. Dudley.  I'm going for my first consultation to use acupuncture at Abundant Spring, recommended by one of the ladies on this board.

I'm 37 and the hubby is 47, along the way we have had 3 miscarriages :(. We are in the 2WW this cycle, ( Clomid 200mg, hCG trigger shot, IUI).  If this doesn't work, Dr. Kennedy is recommending IVF with PGD.

I'm (Heather) always around if you need to chat :).  We've only been in the Seattle area since May 2011, so it's nice to reach out and meet some new friends :)

  • Thanks for the welcome, everyone! I'm happy to see a few familiar faces. Thankfully, my HSG today showed normal results and it was less painful than I'd expected!

Nice to meet you, Heather. I'm also the younger one in our marriage. I'm sorry to hear you've had 3 miscarriages! *hugs* I too see Dr. Kennedy, but have only seen her once and seen 2 other docs. Do you have any struggles dealing with her nurse, Katie?

  • Hi! I post an infertility check-in once a month - usually around the 1st of the month. (I forgot about it this month until just now; it's posted now, but I usually don't wait so long in the month!) I've posted on TTTC occasionally (and they're very nice), but I normally just post on this board. I find that most of my questions are answered here and I don't have time to build up relationships with multiple boards! Good luck with your journey and feel free to join the check-in!

  • I definitely remember you from the Nest!  I'm sorry you are having fertility trouble.  There are quite a few of us here who went through/are going through IF treatments.  I'm so excited to see a couple of you are seeing Dr Kennedy (well, not excited that you need to....).  She was my primary RE and she's awesome!  We also saw Dr Opsahl, who is also amazing (and lots of ladies here have seen him).  I did all the testing (HSG, SHG, SA, AR, and a hysteroscopy/polypectomy, clomid challenge), 3 BFN IUI's and 2 IVF's.  The first led to a m/c and the second led to the little guy in my siggy.

I'm sorry to hear about your FIL.

FWIW, I thought Katie wasn't very responsive.  It was still NCRS when I went through this, so I just called the nursing line and the other nurses got back to me really quickly.  Not sure how that works now that it's SRM.  You can also email Katie, if she hasn't mentioned it.
