Haven't felt baby move yet...

Im 18 weeks, and I haven't felt baby move for sure. I had some feelings a few weeks ago that I thought might be the baby. I haven't felt anything for at leat a week. I'm starting to freak out a little.

  • Don't worry! From my understanding, it can take a little longer. Some women don't feel anything until 20-22 weeks. :) It'll happen soon for you. My birth mother text me tonight and said she JUST felt the baby for the first time and she's 18weeks 5 days. She hadn't felt a single nudge until now.

  • I didn't feel DS #1 until after 20 weeks. I've felt this LO since 15 weeks. It definitely varies from person to person and from pregnancy to pregnancy!

  • I haven't either, even though I'm still at 17.5 weeks. I'm a little sad but not worried, I typically hear that FTMs usually feel it at 20-22 weeks, though I'm certainly hoping it will be easier! It feels like everyone is on the board here, but remember many are farther along than you, many are not FTMs, and it is still definitely a minority who say they are feeling baby already! It will come!

  • I was about 19 weeks or so with my 1st.  This one, I'm feeling earlier because she's my 2nd and perhaps the position.  It's very normal not to feel anything until week 20 or so.  So, don't worry at all.

  • i haven't yet either.  it's normal, but i'm anxiously awaiting feeling her for sure for the first time.  i just found out that i have an anterior placenta which i think might make it harder for me to feel her early.  like others have said, everyone is different.  good luck and i hope you feel movement soon!

  • Totally normal!

Where is your placenta? If it's in front of your baby and lining your belly then it will take longer for you to feel movement. My doctor described it as thin pillow in between you and the baby.

  • Me either, but don't freak out.  Even though some women feel their babies earlier, we're still in the window and may feel nothing for a couple more weeks.

  • Last time I was pregnant, I felt those tiny flutters around my 19th week and didn't feel the unmistakable kicks till 21-22 weeks.

This time, I've been feeling kicks for well over a week now. Strong kicks too.

  • I haven't felt anything yet eikther.  I'm 17w4d.  Thought I felt something about 2w ago.  I am guessing it wasn't the baby.  Have no idea what it was that I felt, but never ever felt anything like it before.  Not to worried yet, anxious though.

  • I just started feeling LO this week and I was about as far along as you. It was a "thump, thump"! I don't feel it often or even every day. It's pretty inconsistent at this point.
