I've heard some bad things about this method from the nurses in my Mother Connection group. They say that it is best to feed babies on demand. Also, it's really tough to follow the schedule unless you are a very scheduled person yourself. It makes it hard to run errands, leave the house, etc. It was unrealistic for me.
I followed this method loosely at the beginning. As my DD got older, I notice she had a similar schedule to the Babywise one. She eats after her nap, and that was what I was trying to get her to do. I wasn't able to keep it up though because my DD has been a cat napper since she was 2 months old. She started STTN at that point though. So now at 6+ months she eats every 3 hours and naps the 30/40 mins before. You do have to be a scheduled person yourself to get used to it, but I have always been and had no problems.
Keep in mind, if you will have anyone else watching your baby, they need to know that you are doing this with your baby. My MIL still has trouble with it, and at one point early on, my DD stayed with her and it was 3 days before she was back to normal.
A friend of mine, who is also a nurse, recommended Babywise to me. She did say that it was not for everyone. Good luck!
