Parenting after 35

In home DCP

I think we already discussed this once, but what amount (if any) do you spend on your in home DCP for a holiday gift?  I'm trying to think of something, but not sure what I want to spend.  We really like her, so I was thinking a $45 gc for a massage, but maybe that's too much, although I think some people spend a weeks daycare payment, which I'm not going to be doing.  I'm not sure if she drinks wine or really what her interests are outside of the daycare, we've only been going there for about 6 months. A Starbucks or Panera card would probably be a second choice. Ideas?

Also, I should note that $45 is about the lowest price for a day spa service.  I'm not sure if it would be odd to get her a $30 gc that wouldn't cover any entire spa treatment and that she'd have to add to.

Re: In home DCP

  • I'm giving my DCP a bottle of wine (I know she drinks) and $100 cash.

  • Ok, so I guess $45 isn't too bad then, I also thought about throwing in a couple of new books for her to read to the kids too.
  • DD was in a home DC up until September, and last year we gave her a $100 GC to a local restaurant for her and her family, as they were all involved in her care.

  • When I had in home for DS2, I gave her 1 week's salary in cash.
