I was trying to find out the correct pronounciation and it cant be either of the above or Loo-chee-en. It varies on if you want to pronouce it the French way, the Italian way and so on.
DS1 is Lucian- LOO-shen. I chose the 'a' instead of the 'e' because I felt the 'e' lent it the sound of Loo-see-an, as in the French pronounciation. It may not be entirely correct, but I took French classes and couldn't break the pronounciation-association. Dunno if that helps, but there's my 2 cents.

I've always pronounced it Loo-see-ehn, since everyone I have ever know with this name/spelling has been French. I feel like Lucien and Lucian are pronounced differently- I can definitely see how Lucian is pronounced Loo-shen, but it just seems terribly wrong to me to pronounce Lucien that way.
When I read it, I read it as Loo-see-ehn. But, I also speak French. I have also heard it pronounced Loo-shen, but I would spell it Lucian. I grew up with a girl named Lucia, it really is a nice name too
Re: How do you pronounce Lucien?
My friend's son is named Lucien, pronounced LOO-shen.
ETA: I've never heard anyone pronounce it the other way.
I think either could be correct - depending on preference.
I love the name Lucia for a girl...we would pronounce it Loo-see-ah, but some people may think of Loo-sha, like the island St. Lucia...
