The 4 month wakeful? Those with more than one LO- is this for real or is it teething and other things that just happen to fall around the 4 month mark? I keep reading about it on here, but no one who I know in the real world has experienced it...
We have been having an AWFUL week and I'm hoping that its a 3 month growth spurt and will go away. If it is just her personality for the moment I am HORRIFIED of what her 4 month wakeful will be.

I'm petrified of this! Through all of the growth spurts, fussy periods, and horrible nap days, the one thing I could count on was him sleeping well at night. 4 month wakeful? NOT cool!

I'm glad I'm not the only one! Supposedly, around 4 months of age babies go through a sleep regression because they are more aware of their world and their sleep is different. There is a long biological explanation, but every mom I have asked said that their babies slept better around 4 months.... Who knows!
I had never heard of this until The Bump, but I also don't have any friends that have kids yet. I'm really hoping it isn't true! Our son is almost 3 months old and I feel like he is finally starting to make some progress in the sleep department. He's currently giving us a 5-6 hour stretch at the beginning of the night and I'm so scared for this to not continue/get better! I just keep telling myself that it may be a real thing, but it doesn't happen to every baby. Just like I hear all this talk about growth spurts, butn never noticed anything with Carter...
I think a lot of people IRL just don't label it that ... but when babies go through periods where they are learning tons, they often struggle to sleep.
Kai didn't have it happen until closer to five months, when he really started rolling and exploring. We went through a rough couple of weeks sleep wise.
I guess the good news with Halle is that it can't get too much worse

My daughter never went through it and DS#1 was more wakeful around the 9 month mark when he started pulling himself up and cruising. He could figure out how to pull up but was afraid to get back down. He'd scream in the middle of the night for us to help him let go of the crib rail...LOL.

Good luck to all of us!
Yeah, it can happen.
