Double Stroller Recs?

Anyone recommend a double stroller that has a car seat attachment? I can't seem to find one I like that isn't a gazillion dollars. (Seriously, how do they expect people about to have 2 kids to spend $700-$800 on a stroller?!). My son will be 1 when #2 is born so he'll be able to grow into it regardless... but I'll need to attach the car seat for the newbie. I'm also not a HUGE fan of the side-by-side strollers... just feel like they're too wide and would be hard to maneuver. Thanks in advance! :)

  • Babytrend is the one we got and its very easy to fold up and not to bulky only problem is you have to have a babytrend carseat but they are relativly inexpensive

  • The best ones out there IMO are the Baby Jogger City Mini Double, Baby Jogger City Select and Britax B-Ready. They aren't cheap though.

  • We have a City Mini Double. The seats recline to almost flat, so you don't really need a car seat adaptor. We bought one, but have only used it once since DD hates her car seat. Look for a 2010 on sale. They should be pretty inexpensive right now.

  • We have been pretty happy with our Kolcraft Contours Option II Tandem.  It's available on Amazon for ~$225.00.  They've made a new and improved (lighter!) version called the Optima (~$290.00 on Amazon).  If you like the Kolcraft Contours, I'd get the Optima.

  • Baby trend sit and stand Plus. My second was 21 months when #2 was born, and she was too young to use the stand alone bench on a regular sit and stand. The plus model has a second seat that can be removed as the child gets older. My child now uses the bench and it works great. There is a car seat attachment that I'm assuming can be used for any infant car seat. We have a Chicco car seat for the infant and the attachment works for us. I have been really happy with mine for the 18 months that we've had it. I'm getting ready to have #3 soon, so I will be back to using the second seat and car seat attachment. Price probably runs around the $150 range. Very resonable.

  • I have a Bumbleride Indie Duo and LOVE it.  It is SBS, but drives great.  It isn't too wide IMO.  It is 29" wide which is less than a commercial door.  I wasn't able to use a infant seat adapter but I believe the stroller allows for them.

This, except for the basket underneath - you can't close the stroller w/o taking the basket off and it's a PITA!

  • We have the Baby Jogger City Select and I love it!  I wanted/needed a tandem stroller because I am on my own with the kids a lot, so I have no other choice but to run errands with them.  Having a tandem makes maneuvering through stores pretty easy.  The biggest plus, though, with the BJCS is the versatility.  I love the fact that I can use the same stroller even if I only have one kiddo with me.  The stroller is a bit pricey, but it was worth it for us.

  • I also have the BJCS and I LOVE it! I use it all the time, frequently switching from double to singles mode. I find maneuvering side by side strollers indoors really difficult, so inline or tandem was the way to go. It is long ( not as long as the kolcraft though), but I don't have an issues pushing it or fitting through aisles. It can be pricey, but I bought previous years model last Jan and I think I spent less than $500 for everything( frame, 2 seats and car seat adaptor)
