Need south of Atl OB-GYN rec's

I know most of you guys are north or in-town, but does anybody know of a great southside practice that uses midwives? I had a natural birth with a midwife the first go round (and want that again), but don't want to use the same practice. I used Southern Crescent Women's Health before and while I liked the midwives, there were tons of other major issues that I don't want to have again. I live in Henry County - any suggestions? And if you have a group/hospital that you loved in town (but not north - too far), feel free to mention them too. I might would be willing to go in the city as it looks like there's not tons of great options down here.

Thanks!

  • Highly, highly recommend Intown Midwifery. They are practicing next to Atlanta Medical Center, deliver there, and are trying to open a birth center in 2013.

  • I was going to recommend Southern Crescent.  I adore Dr. Nater.

  • Thanks guys! I have heard good things about Intown Midwifery. War_eagle, I had so many issues with them, but loved my midwife. The main reason I decided to not return was because my son had to have circ revision at 9 months old (under general anesthesia) - his urologist said that the OB simply did not do the procedure right at all. It was Dr. Bello who did it - and you cant dictate who does them - its whoever is on call. I just was afraid to have something like that happen again. But I agree that Dr. Nater is very nice

  • I'm on the southside (Coweta) and I use Intown Midwifery. They are amazing and completely worth the drive.

UGH.  I don't blame you.  I guess I've been very lucky with them.
