Babies: 6 - 9 Months

New to formula..

We just switched DS to formula and I'm still learning the ropes I guess...

How many ounces does your 8 or 9 month old drink? I can't seem to get it "right" I'm either not making enough or making too much!

 Any tips?

  • Not sure if this helps but my LO is 7 months old and she gets 5- 6 ounce bottles a day. 3 Scoops of formula to 6 oz of water. She gets a bottle every 3 3 1/2 hours.
  • thanks! I've been making 5-6 oz and he still seems hungry after... but when i make bigger bottles he still wants to eat every 3-3.5 hrs.. and he eats a ton of solids too!... i dont want to "over" feed him...

  • I have a baby on the larger size but he takes 8oz every 4 hours or so... ( and 3 meals a day)

Sometimes he only drinks 6oz and I just throw out the rest or if it is the morning I will save it and use it for oatmeal.

If you are just weaning some babies take time to work up to that many oz. My DD was weaned around 9 months and took 5-6oz every 3 hours for over a month until she worked up to 8oz even though the dr was telling me she should drink 8oz 4x a day.
