8mo bottle strike

LO is 8 months.  She's never been great at taking the bottle, but we've managed to get through them.  The last 2 days she's absolutely refused taking the bottle.  After trying nearly every trick in the book for about an hour, we've given up and put some of her milk in her solids to eat.  I nurse her in the evening when I'm back from work and she takes that without an issue.  Her sleeping, both naps and nighttime are fine and she is in good spirits.  But I'm concerned that she's getting so little milk.  Any ideas?

Re: 8mo bottle strike

  • I have no advice but we have been in the same boat for the past two weeks.  My LO has also never loved the bottle, but she has always taken it, as you said.  But last week she started refusing it completely.  She is taking some this week, but it is still a struggle for either daycare or my MIL.  The only explanation I have come up with is that her bottle strike coincided with her getting sick and not really being able to breathe out of her nose.  During that she would still nurse no problem through the stuffy nose, but wanted nothing to do with the bottle.  I am hoping that now that she is feeling better she will get back into the swing with the bottles.  Good luck to you!
