DIY Baby leg warmers/pants alternative

Here's a cute and easy alternative to pants for your LO. No need to pull down pants during diaper changes AND you can dress your baby in argyle every day!

Best of all, if you're craft-challenged like me, this is so easy.

  • Thanks for posting!  These would be awesome for me to give to sis (and me) for our little baby girls-to-be.  Did you make these on a sewing machine?

I'm kind of sewing machine challenged - any idea what settings/thread you should use since it is stretchy fabric?  I've only sewed straight lines on easy cotton fabrics, lol.

  • I have been making them for a while. Love them and so much cheaper.
  • I made a TON for DD - they really ARE super easy to make. This is a good time of year to stock up on the Target knee high socks as they are constantly having sales and have adorable colors and patterns.

Oh, I haven't made them yet! But the blogger hand-sewed them, which I shall do as well. The last time I used a sewing machine was not pretty!

  • Yes, same here.  Last time I attempted to sew jersey material it was bad news.  I think I probably need some more sewing training =).  So far I'm only skilled at pillow covers and curtains!

Yep, I'm sticking with squares and triangles too! A few weeks ago I sewed a chair cover for my girls' chair, the fabric of which had become downright nasty over the last 6 years (and I'd used Resolve to no avail).

Let's just say DH chuckled at my final product, and my girls patted me on the back in a way that was almost pitying Smile.
