At the beginning of my pregnancy I was doing yoga at least 3 times a week, I walked every day, drank no soda at all and was just doing everything text book.
Well not so much these days anymore. I haven't done yoga in I don't know how long, I do still walk but that not every day either (except for little 5-10 minutes strolls from the parking lot to work) etc. I also drink more soda now. Still caffeine free and I do drink my water but not all water, I substitute it with other things, too.
How are you ladies holding up these days? I'm so angry at myself that I'm not keeping up with yoga but to be honest with you I hurt so bad that I can't get myself to do it. Plus I get up at 5.30am every morning, work all day and never get home before 7.00pm or later. I know excuses but still :P
Also, sorry this is way TMI but I gotta ask. So... my BMs are painful these days. I"m not constipated in the least bit, haven't been the entire pregnancy! I'm regular (once a day) but the first push always really hurts. Like deep in my abdomen. Anybody else??
TIA!
Re: How much do you excercise these days? OH and TMI Q :/
The only excersice I get is from running around after my 2yr old. That's enough for me. I wake up around 6:30/7am with him... I often make his lunch/ dinner in the morning before work becuase I'm too tired at night to do it (I can't function after listening to those lullabys with him.. puts me to sleep too). I get home around 6:30/7pm each night. After cooking dinner, giving bath, playing a little bit with him and reading books. It's bedtime for everyone in the house. I can't fit an excersice routine into my mix right now.
I'm still teaching Zumba around 3 times a week and doing one day of light strength training. Not sure how much longer I will hold up. Its definitely getting more difficult now!
Looking forward to once the little one gets here so I can get back to my regular routine and get certifications in some other formats!
Same goes for my water too...I just had one day where I realized the last thing I wanted to do was drink water. I've been doing more milk...more sodas made with splenda. I was drinking soooo much that I cringed at the thought of drinking more water!
I'm lucky right now if I walk the dog twice a week. Exercise is just not high on my agenda right now - we'll see if I pay for it later!
You might want to use (or talk to your OB) about Miralax. It's not a laxative - just a softener, so even if you're not truly constipated, it will just soften things up to make it a bit easier to go. And - it's really easy to "self dose" - I just do 1/2 dose every other day or so as opposed to the full dose every day and that's enough for me.

Exercise - Does walking around Target or the grocery store twice a week count? I hope so.
BM's - if the pain is because your stools are hard, try colace.
I also have used Colace for poop issues. The extra iron kills me.

The only excercise I am getting is running after buses, taxis, and metros and the walk in between stops.
Still doing pretty well on the water front but mostly cause it's the only option and I am always thirsty.
Definitely having BM issues, but I am pretty stopped up. Some times when LO hits me it hurts cause there is no more room.
The only routine exercise i get is cleaning around the house and if I go out parking far. I purposely stopped exercising because I don't ant to risk any labor.
I never drink soda I am a water person all the way. With my first pregnancy I was addicted to those hansens smoothy drinks high in calories I put on a lot of weight. I did learn a trick to cutting out the sugary drinks. Get a bottle of water fill it half way with water, and half with a highly concentrated juice, welshes grape for example. I also really loved motts apple juice. drink that once you get used to it increase the water 3/4 full and reduce the juice. then cut that in half to where your drink is primarily water with just a little juice flavor. Baby steps. I did the full bottle of water with 1/8 apple juice through my second pregnancy. Now I just love plain water.
sorry I am backed up on the BM's not much advice there.
Thanks ladies!
Ok I don't feel as bad now
When things hurt it just isn't easy to excercise. As far as water goes, well I guess I"m ok there, too. I still get at least 64 oz of fluid every day. Out of that instead of it being mostly water except for my glass of milk in the morning, I now have maybe 3-4 glasses of water and the rest is milk, oj and soda. So not toooo bad
Now with BMs i may have to ask my doc b/c the stool is not hard in the least bit, nor do I have a difficulites pushing it out. Everything is as good as it can be, it just hurts, I don't know how to explain it. I wonder if it's just the baby pushing on everything so it's uncomfortable.
Thanks for all your advice!

I think I'm experiencing the same poo-pains as you! It's very hard to describe, but I swear it's like LO is kicking my intestines! Does it happen when you're gassy? It almost feels like a bad gas bubble but deeper in, I guess since LO had smooshed it all. Altho I am boardering on being backed-up (I avoided constipation this whole entire time until now!) so who knows what the heck is going on. Meh, I'm not too worried about it, it's not terrible, just annoying.

Too funny! My BM's hurt too! It seems like every time for me in the last few days. VERY uncomfortable!
I've really cut back on exercise too and I'm trying not to feel too quilty about it. Last time I went for a really long walk (1+ hours, 1.5 weeks ago) I was regretting it cause the pressure was pretty bad. So now my long walks are about 20-30 mins with the dogs every other day or so. And I'm doing less yoga (didn't even make it to class this week) but trying to do about 30 mins in front of the TV about 3 days a week. I'm lucky though to be working from home and work is very slow so I have a lot of time on my hands. If I worked as much as you do I would be way too exhausted!
