Unless by some fluke (Good or bad) I will be officially joining the C-sections board on Dec. 22nd. LO is breech (My doc is highly uncomfortable with the extra complications of delivering a breech baby) as well as low amniotic fluid (We won't be attempting to turn LO for that reason).
My question is; After you recovered from your C-section, what type of pants/underwear could you wear? I ask as my mom had the last of her 3 C-sections in 1990 and still won't wear anything low-rise as it irritates her scar(s). She sticks to high-rise waists that sit above her belly-button. Does that sound par for the course, or did she just get into a comfy rut?
Re: Question about pants (and a lil intro)
For the first couple of weeks after surgery, it was all wide-waistband yoga pants and high-cut granny panties. They didn't go to my belly button, but they went about 3 inches above my scar. My normal undies go only about a half inch above.
I was in maternity jeans for 3 months or so. Then I had to go buy jeans in a size up from my pre-preg size, but that was because I was still carrying a few extra pounds, not due to my incision. By about 7m post surgery, I was back in my old low-rise jeans. The button is about an inch above my scar. Sometimes it's a little sensitive, but it's not bad...certainly not bad enough to put me in mom jeans for the rest of my life. lol.
Thank you gals, I am quite relieved to hear that C-section moms can carry on in ''non-mom-pants'' lol. THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!
I'm 7 weeks out...and wearing granny panties usually..or regular low cut ones in a size larger..so they dont rub..
I like to lounge around in yoga pants..(because I want to be comfy taking care of my infant), but when I go out, I usually wear my normal low rise jeans..they don't rub my incision..The first 5 weeks or so, I continued to wear maternity jeans
I wore hospital mesh panties for one day, then switched to my own granny panties. I was more comfortable in them. I wore them until my PP bleeding stopped, then went back to my nice panties.
I wore PJ pants home from the hospital and lived in them and yoga pants for the first six weeks, at which point I was back in my old wardrobe.
For a little while after I had DD I continued to wear my pregnancy pants. The elastic band felt good, and I was nowhere in any shape to fit into anything else. I lived in these (with a belly wrap around the outside) and sweat pants.
I am not 7 months PP and wear anything and everything including low rise jeans. I guess everyone's comfort level varies, but there is hope!
