Grateful for my trusty doppler once again!

My LO has really settled lately with movement, which I know is mostly normal and I've still felt regular movements, just not huge ones or big party sessions anymore.

Well today I've just been doing a lot of relaxing and reading and suddenly realized I hadn't really felt a pronounced movement all day that I could remember... commence tiny panic attack... so I whipped out my dusty doppler and thank God found the heartbeat almost immediately and it is sounding great with some good fluctuation. Panicked L&D visit averted! Of course, now Nugget is stretching around just to spite me Stick out tongue

Anyone else still use their doppler this late in the game?

Re: Grateful for my trusty doppler once again!

  • I almost bought one.  I didn't feel DD move until 22 weeks and I was so nervous in between appointments!  But once she started, she has not stopped.  It is borderline ridiculous.  My stomach looks like aliens are trying to burst out all the time.  I haven't had to do kick counts or anything like that this time.  My first DD however sent me to L&D at least 4 times because she NEVER moved.  I would cry and cry because no matter what I did I would go days without feeling her move.

  • I just used mine the other day for the same reason. It had been months since I'd used it, but I was nervous by her lack of movement. I am so glad I bought a doppler this time around!

  • I too busted mine out the other day as our LO has settled in a bit more and movements are much softer and less noticable when I am busy during the day and when I stay busy all day long.  It puts me at ease to know I can check on LO when I feel concerned.  There are more quiet days and hopefully that means He/She will be here soon.  I found out at my Dr apt yesterday she would let me go to 42 wks as a FTM (would talk options at 41wks)....AAAAHHHH  we would really like for LO to be here for Christmas.

This for sure! It's been a God send this whole pregnancy!

  • Yep, I've used it several times in the last few weeks on low-movement days... and of course, as soon as I use it, baby starts moving like crazy. As far as my sanity is concerned, the doppler was my best purchase this whole pregnancy!
