I called the new GI dr That Sarah was refered to in Dallas and they can't see her until JANUARY. Really??? I know with the holidays coming up drs are taking time off, but my baby is hurting and I hate to see her like this for her first christmas.
I am so sorry. Is there anyway that you could ask to speak with a nurse and see if maybe they can squeeze you in early or have your doctor call and try to get you in?
Any idea how long it will take to get into the Mayo Clinic? That's where you'd go next, right? Having to wait that long sounds tortuous. I'm sorry!
I was wondering that as well. May be worth calling. Or try what the pp said - try to get through to a nurse and explain your situation. I'm sorry. I remember when DS had to wait through the holidays for tubes and THAT seemed torturous, so I hate to think of your poor girl having to wait for a solution to her pain.

Sadly, my first reaction, was "Wow, that's fast!" We had to wait a while to see a GI too and it's so annoying, particularly when your little one is having problems. Hang in there! Ask to be put on the wait list if someone cancels.
I would have your referring dr call that dr and see if they can work some magic.
As far as talking to a nurse...I know at our clinics we would not transfer new patients that had not been seen to a nurse line. While you would only be explaining your situation it can create a liability when new patients ask medical advice when they haven't been seen. Just a heads up in case they do not let you speak with a nurse.
When DS was really sick and we were on a 3 month waiting list, I had a morning routine of calling the front desk 15 minutes after they opened. That's enough time to check messages and see if there is a schedule change for that day. Just be super nice and kill them with kindness. You might get lucky. I did and he was seen much sooner. Worth a shot.
I agree with having your doctor call. Many times they will squeeze you in, if they know it's important enough that your doctor called personally. It's worth a shot. Good luck getting an earlier appointment. Your situation just seems so torturous already and then to get such a long wait just to be seen. Ugh. Also, I agree with calling the Mayo clinic directly and checking their availability too.
Is there anyway your Dr. can call to see if they could get you in sooner? Have you been to the GI's at Specially for Children?
Could you email me, kristik a t a n i c k @gmail? I have some neocate that a generous nestie gave me. You are more than welcome to a few cans of it!
I called my drs office to see what they could do and they didn't have any luck. I will keep calling to see if something opens up. They only things is this dr is in Dallas, so I need some time to get there.
As far as the neocate, thanks but I think that we are ok for now. I had a dear friend ship me some that will expire before her next baby get here.

I'm sorry that y'all have wait.
Do they have wait list? My endo's office will put patience on a wait list to be called if an earlier appointment opens up.
