Tailbone Pain at 15 weeks

This week my tailbone started hurting whenever I'm sitting down, as if I've had a fall on it (which I haven't). Anyone else experiencing this pain? It's pretty uncomfortable, and I'm guessing it has to do with the growth of my uterus. Hoping it's not a precursor to back labor!!

  • I get that pain too, but I did break mine in Jr High and it's got arthritis in it and all the growing and pressure can't be helping. During the winter my DH is always asking "so does your butt say it's gonna snow tomorrow" he thinks it's so funny that I can tell when the weather is changing. I hope yours doesn't get too bad good luck!

  • I've been getting that pain a lot too when I sit. I'm not sure why though but it is very annoying since I sit for 10hrs a day when I work plus drive an hour each way. I want to see if others have this issue too.

Sit on a hot pad when you can I find it to help a lot

  • My chiro told me that it's likely the uterosacral ligament, connects from the back/bottom of the uterus to the pelvic wall. LIke the round ligaments, it also stretches and causes pain/discomfort as everything is growing...

  • I had pain there too right around 15 weeks. It lasted a few days and I just sat on a pillow when I wasn't on a couch or something soft.

  • It started around 18ish weeks for me.  I'm at 25 now and still getting it.  If I sit too long, or on a hard surface, and then I get up, I feel like my tailbone is broken.  I currently feel it, I'm sitting in a cushioned seat writing my thesis.  I only get it when sitting for a long time so, I'm not sure what it is.  I feel like it's a nerve of some sort.  But the response about what the chiro told one of you sounds legit.

  • Walmart autosection... $12  seat pad with cut out for your tailbone.  Best $12 I have spent in ages. Fits on office chairs perfectly :)
