My doctor said they will do a non-stress test. I have never heard of this before. I googled it and found out they are just going placing a fetal monitor on me for a while. I am still not sure why they are doing the test, besides just checking her moments. Anyone know?

I would want to know why...
I had them weekly for pre-e and then had the monitors on for 4 days in the hospital during my bed rest...

I've been having them every week since about 30 weeks or so because I was measuring behind and they are monitoring me for IUGR vs. SGA
I am having them 2x week in the last month, because I am over 35 yrs old. This granny-mama has 2 sensors put on her belly, hooked up to what looks like a seismograph machine that measures earthquakes. One measures heartbeat (making sure that if fluctuates appropriately over a span of time) and the other detects movement (i.e during BH contraction, etc.). Absolutely painless and gives me 30 minutes to read magazines.
Also, complimentary cranberry juice.
