Good News/bad news

Took C in to the pedi this morning.. .his cold is still hanging around and now he has a deep, gooey sounding chest cough.

Good news... lungs sound good, so we caught it early.  Will be giving him more bronchial inhaler that we got last spring.

Bad news... ear infection.  And apparently he doesn't seem to care, so we had no idea he had an ear infection.  This doesn't bode well for the future! Ugh.

More bad news.. turns out our pedi is also Theo's pedi (small world!)  He is not a well little boy... still in the hospital and not making the progress she wants to see, so they're being super cautious with him.  (She wasn't breaking any HIPPA rules.. since she knew I knew what was going on with him)

  • Good thing you caught on time. It is hard to believe that he didn't feel any pain from the ear infection. I ve had that once as a kid and I will never forget the pain.

  • I had a ton of them as a child, too.  Miserable.  But we were both shocked that he had one in both ears.. even doc was surprised, since they're pretty inflamed and red.

Oh.. and another YEAH... he gained nearly a pound in the month since his 2 year checkup!   Happy happy happy!  Now he's back close to the 10th percentile!

  • Yay for C and but what a bummer about Theo. Fingers crossed that the little guy gets better soon.
  • My son never had any ear infection symptoms.. just would take him in for random things and he'd have one. After 3 the doc said he'd recommend tubes if it happened again. It never did.. or we never caught it. He's got a pretty high tolerance for pain still..

Hoping your lil one gets better soon! :)

  • Good thing you got little one checked when you did.  Too bad about the ear infection.  Hopefully he's on the mend.  My DS had his first (and so far only) ear infection at 18 months.  He's been fine since.  My MIL is convinced that you must keep water out of his ears at all costs and is super cautious when washing his hair.  I just dump buckets of water on his head, he could care less.  Little does she know he loves putting his head/ears underwater when "swimming" in the bathtub.  Old wives tail, but you can't tell her that!
