too much "advice" vent.

I am getting tired of "experienced" moms telling me things like they know everything. Like...  stop buying things, that people will want to buy us gifts so we shouldn't be buying bigger items (we've only bought our baby's furniture, which we weren't planning to register for and we wouldn't expect anyone to buy for us) and our travel system (because it was on sale). Then, the same mom is telling me to stop buying clothes, too, because people will want to buy us lots of clothes and the baby will grow out of them like that.

This is our first baby and we can afford to buy him/her things and we want to! It's my right to do so LOL. And who cares if I bought my travel system? I'll be registering for plenty of other things, which I'll have to buy if people don't buy them for me - and that's fine! I'm not going to sit there and assume someone's going to buy my travel system. And if people want to buy me clothes or other gifts, then great! The more the merrier. In her same message, she told me that they also got a lot of gift cards from BRU for their shower so even though they didn't get everything on their list, they were able to use them to buy the bigger items. I mean, really? Now you are dictating to me now to buy my bigger items so I can use gift cards that I will MAYBE get? Like I can't find something else to use gift cards on in BRU lol.

It's not like she has to live with me and deal with any of it? We are allowed to do things how we'd like! I understand she thinks she is trying to be helpful, but it's like... back off! I just emailed her back, "Thanks for the tips! I am excited to go clothes shopping and I'm sure the novelty will wear off eventually or if not, by baby #2, so I'll cross the outgrowing clothes before they are worn bridge when I get to it." Ugh, I am just easily frustrated lately, but it's getting old!

    All the advice is driving my nuts too.  My MIL and SIL (x2) went to BRU for Black Friday.  I've done a ton of research on what I want and why. She told me not to get the diapers I want bc they've been know to cause rashes.  Umm, they all can cause rashes but the one's I want are looking like the best ones so far.  I just took her advice at the time and will buy what I want later.  She ended up buying the diapers that day anyways.  :)   Score for me!

    Crazy advice! We had to buy all of our big stuff! The only big thing we got was our pack n play and it was from my office who pooled together and bought it for us. I say, you are smart for spacing it out and buying the big stuff as it is on sale and not expecting people to buy it for you! Enjoy buying what YOU want for YOUR baby!

    I hate unwanted advise, dont eat this, oh you cant do that, my worst one would have to be finding out the gender. Me and my husband were "team green" last time and i had so many ppl tell me oh no you have to find out! Like really my baby no i dont. Oh and make sure you have your hospital bag packed weeks in advance. Ugh i packed mine after my water broke and still made it to the hospital with a few hours to spare. Oh and i bought my swing and some other stuff pre baby shower and you know what i did when i got duplicates? I took the stuff they got me back and got the stuff i needed. Not one person complained either.

     OMG!  We are also Team Green and we are getting half and half results.. some people agree with us and others say they couldn't do it.  Some close friends really want to know, but..  too bad!  My kid!
