So this is getting ridiculous and I would love to hear about some of your "Pregnancy Brain Moments." It can be an "I'm not stupid, I'm pregnant!" support group.
My best one so far is that I forgot how to turn my car's headlights off. I had the windshield wipers and turn signals going, just sitting there so confused. My husband was amazed.
Re: I'm not stupid, I'm pregnant!
*Leaving the house for a trip to the grocery store with no bra on. It was freezing outside.
*Not realizing a movie I was watching was in Spanish...
*Repeating the exact same sentence repeatedly without knowing I already said it.
*Not being able to remember that "holiday after Christmas."
*Making out our rent check this month to an apartment complex I lived in 4 years ago. Don't even know where that came from!
2012
I posted something very similar a couple of weeks ago. I forgot how to turn off the turn signal. I kept on turning the high beams off and on. And starting the windshield wipers. This happened to me while driving.
Luckily, mine was an "almost" pregnancy moment.. We have a recycling bin that we keep in our garage (we keep our garbage container in there, too). Normally, when I have something to recycle, I open the door and toss the container into the bin from the doorway.
Today, I took my dog out to poop, picked up her poop in a bag, came back in the house, opened the door to the garage, and was a split second away from just throwing it in the recycling bin like I do with my OJ containers! LOL oops!! Luckily at the last second I realized what I was doing and walked it out to the trash can instead.
I am also doing random stuff like trying to put my gallon of milk into the cupboard where I got my cup.. luckily it doesn't fit there!
Shopping with one of my good friends (shes 9 months pregnant) we both walked out of the store, then stood outside, trying to figure out why & how we got there. We weren't ready to leave the store yet.. Double pregnancy brain moment. When we're together, we have alot of these moments.
I have to say that this post seriously came at the best time! I love reading that at least other people are going through this besides me. I am sitting at work feeling absolutely ridiculous because I keep making very dumb (but not major) and now my boss is treating me like an idiot.
I have been double checking my work and things I am sending out, but somehow I still miss something. I really hope to get my brain back soon or I will not be looking forward to my yearly review after the new year!
I'm the exact same way. However, yesterday I did write something down and still forgot to do it. When my boss came in and asked me about it I told him I had done it. Only I wasn't thinking about the same thing he was and I was totally embarrassed. I had to apologize for not doing it and also for telling him I did. He understands it was my confusion, but I'm not normally THAT confused!!
I have had a few, here are the ones I can remember haha
I threw our football tickets into the trash about 2 hours before the game, spent forever looking for them before I had a realization that I probably threw them away.
While in Europe on vacation in the first trimester I left my camera behind 2 different times, thankfully nice people helped us out both times. I lost the key to the locker all our luggage was stored in at the train station, 1 hour before our night train (we paid a ton of money for them to open it...).
I signed paperwork at work yesterday with January 5th, 2011.
-I regularly call FI (Edward) by the dog's name (Soren).
-I left our door wiiiiiide open when I left the apartment.
-I handed essays in to the wrong professors.
-I left my car running when I got home from class and didn't realize until FI came home almost half an hour later and asked me if I was warming up the car to go somewhere.
-FI and I couldn't find any of our clothes. I finally realized I left them in the dryer in our building's laundry room. For three days.
Those are just some of my greatest hits.
Yesterday I was supposed to bring fruit to a class with me. I sat it on the couch with my purse before I left. I also had a presenatation that day. Forgot fruit, hubs brought it to me, notes stayed behind and I had to wing presentation. And on the way to the class I forgot where I was going and totally missed the street, had to turn around. Thats just one morning...
I also and VERRRY clumsy now. We have to re-drywall our bathroom wall becuse I tripped and ripped the toilet paper holder off.
I could go on and on!
