Yesterday after my appt I felt crampy all day. I figured it was from being jabbed in the cervix, no big deal. Contrax were still close to 15min apart, I was 2cm dilated and 75% effaced at my appt.
Went for a brisk walk in the cool air after work for about 45 min. Within an hour of that, they were consistently about 4.5-5min apart for the rest of the evening. They were stronger than they'd been but I still not too painful. I could walk/talk through them so I decided to wait and see. Lost the fairy cork (for REAL this time, yeah - there's really no mistaking that is there?!?) around 10pm. Drank a big glass of water and laid on my left side to watch some tv. The cx spaced out to about 6.5min apart but slowly increasing in intensity, to where they now felt like a dull ache and some sort of strong pressure pushing down on my pelvis/butt.
Around midnight I decided to take a bath and shave my legs, then lay down and try to sleep. I figured either the pain would get worse and wake me up, or my water would break and wake me up. I woke up a few times, but only to pee (and pass more of the fairy cork - sheesh!). Tried to keep timing them during my wake-ups, but couldn't stay awake long enough!
Woke up for the day at 7am. Cx are the same intensity (can walk/talk through them but feels like a dull ache with lots of pressure) and have been about 6.5min apart all morning. Stayed home from work but not sure I should call the dr - they want to hear from me when they are <5min for an hour or more (which they were last night between 730 and 1030 but I didn't feel like I needed to call because they really didn't hurt...)
So I'm thinking of going for a walk again and seeing what they do. But I really want to just lay on the couch and watch tv! Maybe I should bake some cookies for the L&D nurses, just in case... ?? What do y'all think?
Re: Um. I think I might be getting close, y'all.
I say bake some cookies then go for a walk. At the very least you'll have a yummy snack when you get back. Good luck!! I hope this is it for you!
Bake some cookies for the L&D nurses.
How exciting!!! Keep us posted!
And what a great idea to bake your own cookies. I might try that this time around, though I never had notice of when either baby was coming.
Speaking as someone who is living with a toddler and a newborn (can I still call him that?) right now- lay on the couch and watch TV!! You don't know when you'll be able to do it again!
But seriously, good luck! It sounds promising.
*hugs* eeek! Good luck!
If baking soothes you, then bake em, otherwise, there's always Tiff's Treats on the way
ditto babs, lay on the couch! I'd love to do that now.
pretty sure your nurses will still be awesome with your labor & delivery with or without cookies!
i hope this is it!!
Sounds like the beginnings of labor! Eeeeek!!
I'd do some walking if I were you, to get it going. Keep us posted!
