Hi Ladies,
It seems some days the constipation is so bad. I have added prune juice into my diet and think I am going to avoid peanut butter as it seems to be worse when I eat that.
After a bowel movement, there is blood. It is not everyday. It's only been here and there. I am thinking it is from hemorhoids. Does anyone else have this issue that going to the bathroom is so uncomfortable?
It's like you almost hate having to go. Anyone else?
Didn't want to have to revert to colace, how much prune juice do you drink a day?
Re: Constipation and Blood on stool?
Ladies,
I found something that really works with constipation! (I'm 21 weeks)
Just drink 3 big glasses of water first thing in the morning. Works for me all the time, and I used to have both constipation and hemoroids. Constipation is gone, hope the hemoroids will go soon too.
I have IBS (Chronic Constipation) and it began to get alot worse after my first month of pregnancy. There are days I literally cry trying to have a bowel movement and end up bleeding badly. My doctor told me to triple up on mirilax and to take colace! Taking the two of it together has gave me some relief! I know every doctor is different, you should ask your ob if this is an option for you.
Good Luck. I feel for ya.
Hi ladies, lurking here from third tri... trying to relive the glory days of the energetic second trimester I guess.
I have battled constipation since my teens, and when I got pregnant, and put on zofran, it was crazy nuts back there (I went 14 days w/o anything happening and got sooo impacted I had to go to L&D for an enema, and manual disimpaction-not fun. I lost 8lbs. and my dignity afterwards). Hemmies came back with a vengeance, but I got it back under control.
I HATE PRUNE JUICE! it's disgusting. I hate colace too. Up water intake as much as possible, walk a little bit every night, and I eat the vita-gummy fiber gummies two a day. I also do one big bowl of fiber one honey oat clusters cereal in the morning (it has 15 grams of fiber per serving). The more fiber you get the better. If I go two days w/o any success I start with the miralax. Luckily I haven't had to go there in weeks, and I haven't had any hemmie flare ups since 20 weeks. Good luck ladies! Hang in there!!!!!
