DD usually takes a 6 oz bottle of formula every three hours. Around 6 pm is her last 6 oz bottle. She doesn't go down for the night until about 8 so at around 7:30ish I offer her 4 oz. She gulps it down so I know she is hungry for it- (last night I tried just offering 2 oz and she cried so then I gave her the other two.) I just read that you should put LO down not hungry but not full either. Anyone know why this is? Or is it only for sleep training purposes? I always assumed "filling her up" before bed was good because it helps her sleep through the night. When is your LO's last feeding in regards to bedtime?
Re: Why shouldn't you put LO to bed full?
My LO eats 4oz bottles all day long.
However at bedtime it's between 5 and 6 oz.
I don't worry or care. It works for us.
Yeah I have never ever heard anyone say that. Maybe its in very specific scenarios? Where did you read this?
DD nurses every 2 hours throughout the day. Even if it's only been an hour I'll offer to let her nurse shortly before bed and she usually hungrily gulps down a full feeding. If we skip that feeding she's up at the 2 hour mark for a meal. If we don't skip it she sleeps 4-5 before needing to nurse again.
LO goes to sleep about 45 min after a bottle. Our routine: 7:00 bottle, bath, rock to sleep around 7:45.
My LO falls asleep in my arms while having his last bottle. I literally put him down right after he finishes his bottle. sometimes he doesnt even burp and hes fine. STTN since 6 weeks. 930pm to 730am.
I dont think its bad to put them down after a bottle...Its the only thing that works for us, and if you ask me, it helps them sleep longer!

My life has a superb cast but I can't figure out the plot.
We don't feed her a full bottle before bedtime. She'll normally just eat about 1-1.5 ounces before falling asleep (her choice as there is more in the bottle) but its better that way since she has reflux. She has done this since probably 6 wks. She sleeps 930-730 every night.
