Boob sniffing - a Question for Pet owners

I've noticed over the past few weeks that my dog sniffs my boobs ALL the time. He always sniffed at my ears and general person etc., like dogs do, but now he sniffs at my chest through my shirt for minutes at a time each day. It has to be the milk coming in right? Has anyone else experienced this?

Re: Boob sniffing - a Question for Pet owners

  • I haven't noticed my cats sniffing me. But for the last week and a half they will NOT leave me alone! They are constantly wanting to sleep with me and one of them even insists on sleeping right next to my belly. Oddly enough, I started to dilate & efface about the same time they started acting like this. Maybe it's a labor omen? Who knows! I'm glad my pet's aren't the only ones acting weird though. :)

  • j hasn't been sniffing my boobs, but he has been sniffing other areas. HIGHLY annoying. well, the sniffing and the excess discharge are both highly annoying.

  • Yes, at first I thought I must have dropped something on my top, but they both (male and female) will do it. I'm guessing it's our milk coming in.

  • Your milk doesn't come in until after the baby is born, it could be the colostrum your dogs are smelling or just an increase in hormones, or your dogs are "boob guys".
  • My female labs are into my boobs as well.. And they are like white on rice around me.  They want to be as close as possible all the time.  I love the snuggling!!

  • my dogs are all about me now. They want to lay by me and they hang out outside the bathroom door while I shower. DH had to move their dog bowls into the bedroom the other night because I was in there and they were wanting to be with me and wouldn't eat.

My aussie likes to sniff my belly. I think she knows her little brother is in there.

  • HAHA love the boob guys comment above.

My dogs won't leave me alone either. They used to not be bothered by my frequent trips to the bathroom at night. Now the whole crew (both dogs) follow me into the bathroom and back to bed every time.

They've also both been VERY bad lately when we're not home. I found my Pomeranian hiding IN my trash can last week after he knocked it over and went through the contents.

  • Yes!!  My DH thinks this is hilarious, me not so much!  I have to make sure to keep my towel wrapped tight and then hurry up and put on a shirt otherwise my smallest girl dog will not get away from my boobs.  Even with a shirt on, she is very interested!

My other dogs one a male and one a female will NOT leave me alone, so I constantly have a pack of dogs circling me.  It is cute but also very annoying now that I cannot see my feet and my center of gravity is off!  I feel like I am always about to fall over one of them!
