Today we have the 38 week appointment. The appointment is scheduled for 1530 but I will phone in at 1445 and get a more accurate time/estimate. The new time will likely be for 1730 or so. Based on the past 8 months we won't actually see the dr. until 1900/1930. Cannot wait to be done with this part of the deal.
Re: Do your appointments run on time?
wow that is crazy-hours behind???
My OB office has been really great with this, usually I am taken back by the nurse within 10-15 minutes and then seen by the Dr. 10-15 minutes after that.
Today I had to wait about 30 minutes and that was the longest. I definitely would be ticked off if I had to wait hours and block off an entire half day just for a routine visit.
Mine are generally pretty good. I usually get in a room within 15 mins and then the doctor will be there within another 5 or so. Sometimes it's terrible but not too bad on most days. If he's just come back after a long weekend or holidays I find it much worse.
Just called and it was worse and better than I expected
The worse: The receptionist said, "did I already talk to you about changing your appointment"
The better: "Can you come in on Friday at 1pm. It won't be your dr but it will be one who runs on time"
So this week's visit will be at 38wks 3 days. I am ok with that as I've had no issues. I would be even happier if things started happening on Thursday!
When I was still working I would always try to get an early morning ppointment, so I could just go there from home and then into work. That was easy when I was booking them at least 2 weeks in advance, and then I would be no more than 5 minutes wait and often less (they were waiting for me when I came back from peeing in the cup).
Last week my appointment was for 2:45 and I waited for over an hour. I think this is pretty typical for them though, so I will try to get mornings for the rest of them, but know that they book up fast, so there usually aren't spots a week in advance...

Happily welcomed healthy baby girl December 2011.
Excited to welcome a new addition September 2014!
I usually see the dr within 15min of my appt time. There was one time I did have to wait and ended up seeing a nurse instead, apparently the dr was called to the hospital for an "emergency procedure". I understood, as I would expect her to do the same if I needed it myself. However I would not go to a dr that ran consistently late, it would drive me crazy! My time is just as important as theirs....
