What to get 2 boys ages 12 and 14 for christmas when they have everything

I am having the worst time coming up with ideas on what to get my two sons for christmas this year. They have everything. Does anyone have any ideas? I also have a 2 year old step daughter who will be very easy to buy for. I just hope the boys are not into counting gifts because hers will cost a third of anything they would want so it may seem like she got tons more but in all reality i wouldn't have spent half as much. Any ideas how to handle that as well?

  • Video games, iTunes GCs, ipods, computers, tablets, ereaders, GCs for books for ereaders, anything music related like instruments, lessons, music, sporting gear, tix to sporting events, concerts, plays.

  •  I wouldn't hesitate to prep them ahead of time for what they'll probably find under the tree on Christmas morning.  Let them know that, like most adults, they'll be getting fewer but pricier gifts than their toddler-age sister.  Assure them that "Santa" will be fair when it comes to his budget for each sibling.

If they give you lip, offer to get them Fisher Price toys instead of electronics!

  • Cash. I'm getting my 15-year-old niece socks with cash in them. It's kinda a family tradition/joke. Wrap up a pair of socks like that's what they're getting but there's money in them. Then the kids only find the money if they check their socks and don't just toss them aside. My brothers and I learned early on to check every sock bc my mom would claim any that got left and made it to the laundry.
  • The more advanced lego kits possibly...  They have some like the White House and the Frank Lloyd Wright houses otherwise ones that have remotes/robotics..

It really can vary depending on what they're "into"...  If the 14yo is into anything gym/sports related, you could start purchasing things like a good quality weight belt (Titan Support Systems, Inzer, etc.) that he'll be able to use for years to come...  Think more practical things along those lines.  Game cards are another idea if they're into doing computer games...  Focus on their key interest areas and go from there...
