grrr exposed vent!

So apparently my FMIL and FFIL were talking about my being pregnant and how they can't wait to spread the news. Well they were overheard on a baby monitor by Kyles brothers girlfriend/mother of their 1st grandbaby. Next thing we know Kyles getting text messages from people saying 'so you're going to be a daddy?' From her cousin... Seriously? How is it any of her business? She also told Kyles brother which we were planning to tell around Christmas after we hopefully heard a heartbeat at our 1st appt in 2 weeks. When she got pregnant still in hs I knew weeks before they told his parents...did I go and spread the news? of course not. I'm not hiding this pregnancy because im ashamed otherwise I wouldnt have told his parents yet. We are extremely excited and this was planned HOWEVER I have had serious health issues and we didn't know IF I could get pregnant and now that I am we want to make sure everything goes safely. I am just so mad she thinks she has the right to tell anyone anything about me. Ugh sorry for the vent I just had to get it off my chest! Thanks ladies!

    That would piss me off. What right is it for them to tell? It is YOUR baby not theirs. You will be the one (or husband) will be the one waking up at 1 in the morning to change their diaper, you will be the one kissing their boo-boos most of the time. It is your child not theirs. That is why I am so nervous on telling certain people. I don't think people have any respect for some people nowadays. Sorry to hear, but congrats on the pregnancy. I understand about whether or not getting pregnant was an option.

    Have you talked to her directly? If not, you need to. You need to explain to her that you understand she obtained information that was not for public knowledge, and has been sharing that news with others. Then ask her, nicely but firmly, to not share the news with anyone else until you give her the "ok". Explain to her why you have chosen to keep it quiet for the time being, and how if something were to go wrong, you would now have to share that very private and devastating news with people you'd rather not have to.

    Thanks ladies. From my understanding she's already gotten a lovely little talking to from both MIL and FIL and Kyle. Ive been a raging you know what when mad since these hormones kicked in so I let Kyle take care of it.

    Well I'm glad she's gotten talked to. I think next time you see her, you should give her a very hurtful look, and ask her "How could you?!"
    See if she apologizes, or has anything to say for herself.
    That was not her news to share.

    I would be pissed! Clearly, it's your news that you should get to share.

    I feel bad because a coworker of DHs (we're all friends, but not close) showed DH a text yesterday of a positive pregnancy test from his wife that he had just received. I know she would be pissed if she knew that her DH told anyone minutes after finding out. I feel bad even knowing but I wouldn't dare tell anyone else.
