Thank-you on back of announcements?

I am finally working on getting out our birth announcements. I also have a bunch of thank-you notes yet to write. My mom recommended I jsut write a quick thank-you on the back of the announcements.

 Do you think this is tacky? Would it be better to enclose a small thank-you card? Thanks!

    i understand saving on postage so i would send an additional card inside the announcement.  i think the thank you on the annoucement is a bit tacky.

    I think it's tacky. I would enclose a small thank you card - I did that as well.

    tacky. ditto to putting a second card in the same envelope though.

     

    that said, we did get a combo thank you/christmas card from a wedding we went to last year....and I thought that was tacky too.

    i guess i'm tacky cause i wrote out my thank you's on the back of our announcement. they were postcard style anyways, so i figured two birds one stone. some people actually commented to me that thought that was a great idea and were surprised i got my announcement/thankyou's out so quickly. i had them out when she was 3 weeks old.

    i sent out announcements then got 40 free ones when we got his pic taken.  i used them for thank yous...and got lots of positive feedback.
