Hi all,
My daycare provider has an opening for an infant, starting this December. She runs a daycare in the finished basement of her home in Alexandria, VA (near Hybla Valley) and it is very bright, cheerful, with toys galore. Her name is Felicita Villanueva. She is from Peru and is a lovely lady who is more of the "grandmother" type in providing child care. She loves her kids so much and she truly makes them a part of her family. She is licensed to have 5-6 kids and she has an assistant, Ms. Vicki, who only speaks Spanish but is just a really cool, awesome caregiver...my son loves her. She sings and dances and gets the toddlers moving. Felicita has 3 infants and 2 toddlers at the moment. One of the infants is leaving mid-December because the parents are opening a restaurant and need night-time hours, so they are hiring a nanny.
If you are looking for a loving, in-home daycare that feels more like a nanny-share or fun play group, this is the place for your infant. Felicita does not take children older than 18 months (her kids usually stay until 2 years before moving to preschool). So she would really like an infant that can grow into the place until preschool.
Felicita also has 2 amazing daughters (about 16 and 21 years old) that help sometimes too and they come down and read books to the kids and play. Felicita and her daughter also offer baby-sitting on the weekends if you give enough notice.
Her hours are from 7:30 am-6:00 pm and she does not include meals, so each family provides breakfast, lunch, snack and milk for their child (and diapers and wipes of course). She has a kitchenette to prepare everything.
If you are interested, please contact Felicita at 703-721-9608. Her address is 7441 Convair Drive, Alexandria, VA 22306.
I would also be happy to answer any questions.
