weird breast pain

it's been 4.5 months since I BFed for the last time and I have this pain, almost like I am engorged. Has anyone felt this? I don't feel any lumps but it's definitely sore...

I certainly have no personal input but are there any spots that are warm and is one breast more sore than the other? I really don't mean to compare you to a horse so please do not take offense but, as a veterinarian, we could see mastitis occur in the mare several months after a foal had been weaned.

Keep a tight eye on it - if you feel sick, nauseous or febrile at all, i'd go see your doctor. Good luck and hope it resolves soon!!!

I had that. My ob/gyn said it was a cyst, and that some of the ducts had filled with fluid. It can happen after weaning. Try some tylenol and a heating pad. If that doesn't help, call your doc and get it checked out.

also, i think you had some things "taken care of" but maybe an HPT is a good idea too.

my period just ended 2 days ago and yes, I had my tubes tied. There is no way I'm pregnant! I did make an appt with an OB for Thur, just in case.

it's more in the left breast but sometimes the right one too.

I have a good friend who had breast cancer so that was my 1st thought.

I'll post after my appt, thanks!

I am 99% sure I have mastitis right now. I had it a couple of times when I was BFing and it feels just like that. I'm going to the doctor tomorrow to confirm (and to get antibiotics so I feel better!), but I thought I'd put it out there that it's not out of the realm of possiblity. It's been a year since I BFed. I didn't even know this was possible.
