North Metro Daycare Recs (Home or Center)

Does anyone have any recommendations for daycare in the North Metro?  We live in Blaine and I work in Mounds View.  Right now I'm leaning towards wanting an in-home daycare, but DH would like to look at centers as well.

  • I'd highly recommend checking out Sunrise Christian Daycare in Moundsview. Truly awesome group of women who love, love, love your kids. Bonus in the infant room is that they are under the state mandated teacher to baby ratio. They provide everything (including formula; you provide breastmilk if you're pumping) except for the diapers and after 6 mos, you can take a 1 wk vacation where you don't have to pay to keep your spot. They also allowed me to remove my dd from care during my maternity leave and saved her spot w/o making me continue to pay. I couldn't find a licensed in-home daycare when pregnant w/my 1st and was much more comfortable in a small center. Another positive w/a center is that except for holidays, they are always open. You don't have to worry about finding alternative care when your in-home person is sick or on vacation. Good luck!
