We just started this past weekend. We were waiting until after family pics were taken here. We are only putting out the minimum this year and ended up sending 6 huge boxes of decor to good will. My kids are mad but I like it.
I haven't either, but we are Jewish, so saying that may sound silly. The caveat is that we both grew up with Christmas because of our non-Jewish dads, so I intended for DD to have secular Christmas like we had. So right now, we have a teeny-tiny Charile Brown Christmas tree sitting on the kitchen table with no ornaments on it. The other day I decided that the ornaments would be mardi gras beads, but I haven't put them up yet. So not only are we not decorated, when we get decorated, we are going to be trashy!

Due to DH's injury, I had to overcome my fear of the attic to get all the crap down. I bought a table top tree so that I wouldn't have to deal with getting the fake one down from the attic or putting it together. I managed to find the ornaments and our big electric menorah, but so far all I've done is make a mess and plug the menorah in. Oh and I got a mini string of lights for my mini tree and haphazardly wrapped them around. My only consolation is that when the tree is plugged in, every single time DD walks by it she points and says tee tee (pretty).
I haven't either... I just don't have the time. It makes me a little sad because I love Christmas, but we are leaving to go see my family for two weeks on the 20th, so even if I did muster up the energy to decorate here, we would not be here very long to enjoy it. DD will get to see Christmas decorations and her first tree at my mom and dad's house.
However, I finally took the time to take Christmas pictures of DD. She was a little mad by the end of it with all the wardrobe changes I put her through, but they turned out super cute so it was totally worth it in the end.

I love everything about this. Thank you.
Tee hee. I will make sure to post a pic once we have the mardi gras beads up.

I just found out we're doing Christmas at our house. You know, two weeks before Liv's birthday party.
I have no kitchen, either. I have a refrigerator. No oven, no cabinets, nothin' - not even doors on the pantry or laundy room! So yah, I'm a little busy. But damnit, we're at least (okay, only) having a tree, even if I have to do it on Christmas Eve Eve.
My confession: My cabinets are being delivered on Thursday. I think I might feel the flu coming on.
I too have a fear of going into the attic and I refuse to ask the ex for help. I had one Christmas bin not in the attic and it happened to have ornaments I bought on Clearance at Target last year so I used those and bought some extra to put up. I also bought an artificial tree because that is easier for me to handle than a real tree and again I'm stubborn and refuse to ask for help.
I will confess I have a Wal-Mart vinyl Christmas table cloth and place mats. It's cute and vinyl is much easier to keep clean than a real one.
My confession is that I bought a bigass train table (well, PBK calls it an "activity table") after DH and I decided we WEREN'T going to buy a bigass train/activity table because between the ILs and my parents our kids are going to be spoiled rotten this Christmas. Except then I went on PBK on Sunday and saw it was on SALE and that there was ALSO a $50 reward offer if I spent $200+ .... so I ordered it. And it shipped yesterday already so I guess I better 'fess up. He won't even care that much, but still, oops. I just can't help it! I love Christmas!

Ty loves going up in the attic and is all about helping others. Want me to drop him off?
Between a surprise wedding, hosting our first Thanksgiving and a surprise birthday party for DH, I haven't had a moment to even think about decorating. But I'm determined to get it done this week. I'm thinking we might go buy a tree tonight if I can convince myself to leave the house in the cold weather.
We also have nothing up. No tree, no wreath, no lights, nothing. And that's probably how it will stay. We're Christmas-ing at my parents' house this year, so we'll take pictures in front of their tree. I just don't have the motivation/energy to do it. Heaven help me when I have more than one kid.
I'm taking a christmas present that mil gave us last year to goodwill today, even though mil saw it recently in our garage and commented that we hadn't put it up yet, and dh told me not to get rid of it.

Thank you but that would mean I would have to put more stuff up. I think the majority of that stuff is for outside lights anyways which I'm not doing this year. My brother might come put them up but then there is the whole taking them down, I'm not feeling the outdoor lights this year.
I haven't done anything. The only Christmas "decoration" that we have up is a James Brown 45 called "Christmas Time Is Definitely Here to Stay", which is on a set of wall shelves and on a plate stand. In the spirit of full disclosure, I will admit that I never took it down from last year because the album sleeve makes me laugh because James Brown is so sweaty in his photo. So I guess, technically, we are those people who never take down Christmas decorations and our decorations consist at least in part of photos of a sweaty Godfather of Soul.
We don't have anything up yet either-- the tree has been sitting in it's box in the middle of the living room for a week. I just don't care. Haven't bought one gift yet either.

We're not planning to until the weekend. More than likely when DS is havign a 3 hour napapalooza. Plus we're kind of nervous about him pulling the dang thing down. So the longer we put it off the better.
I haven't been able to bring myself to get a tree this year. It keeps reminding me of last year when we decorated and I surprised DH with a Baby Lastname due August 2011 ornament. Every time I think about decorating a tree this year I start crying. But I LOVE decorating the house and getting a real tree and the lights and the piney scent... I don't know what I'm going to do.

Oh, sweetie. I am so sorry. I am going to break the cardinal rule and say more than just, "I am sorry for your loss."
I had a laparoscopic surgery to take out an ectopic pregnancy on December 23, 2009. It was the worst Christmas ever. If its any consolation at all, the next Christmas I had a teeny newborn under the tree. I know you'll have one, too, someday. I hope it's soon.

all i've put up is the tree
i also have no working kitchen to speak of and have family coming to town this weekend to celebrate annie's birthday.
lord be with me.
Nada. I was working on Hadley's cake all weekend. I still haven't finished Emily's stocking yet either. From last year.
Abby told me Sunday "Mommy, we don't have any Christmas on our house".
Broke my heart.
I love everything about this. Thank you.

We just did ours on Sunday and it only put me in a bad mood. I think Christmas is overrated and I hate winter. Bah humbug.
I haven't either. I'm so busy, it's ridiculous.
