Let's AW our LO's!

I'm not sure if we've done this in a while - what's something your LO has said or done lately that has you tickled pink?

Re: Let's AW our LO's!

  • Sophia is so cute.  When she hears the music for Little Einsteins she immediatly stops what she is doing to start patting her legs and then lifts her arms to say blast off.

Ethan is amazing. His speech is improving daily.  Today he told me he loved taggie and was happy to have him home since he thought he lost his blanket last night.

Both of my kids look out for each other when it comes to taggie or lovey.  If we are looking for Sophia's lovey Ethan will walk around calling for her.  Sophia makes sure ethan has his sippy and his taggie if he puts it down

  • He's come up with some real zingers lately -

    1. We were visiting FIL and his family for Thanksgiving. SIL asked Ian how old he was, to which he happily replied, "Three!" Then she asked, "When are you going to be 4?" Without skipping a beat, he said, "On my next birthday!" Well, duh!

    2. On Sunday morning, DH was making him breakfast. He asked for pancakes, so DH warmed up 3 or so in the microwave, then got them all cut up, with syrup, etc. When DH placed the plate in front of him, he looked at it and said very seriously, "This is not going to be enough."

Oy. Can only imagine what he'll be like when he gets older!

  • Stella impresses me every day with her verbal language.  She seems to be learning new words all the time, even if DH & I are the only ones who can understand them.  And she is such a good big sister.  She tries to give Audrey a paci, even though Audrey refuses them, and yesterday MIL was having a hard time giving her a bottle so Stella tried to help.  MIL said that Stella was so gentle.  It's so sweet to see Stella giving her kisses and covering her up with her lovey or burp rags as blankets.

Audrey is in that gummy smile stage which I just love.  She also has a ball "talking" to the toys on her bouncy seat and tries to grab them.  Plus she has been STTN 10-11 hours which is wonderful!  The transition to her crib from the RNP went perfectly I don't know why I was so worried about it.

  • My sister put on some music this weekend and Charlotte started bopping around and twirling - it was so CUTE! Also, she has been bringing me books to read and sitting on my lap, which I love. Last night, all 3 of us curled up on the couch and watched part of the Mickey Christmas Special and she was all snuggly and sweet. Makes up for the whining!

  • Claire has officially hit the "Terrible Two's."  For the first time the other day we tried a "time out" using a chair in our living room.  I sat her down in it and tried to explain that she needed to sit there and calm down and then she could come back to the kitchen to sit and eat dinner.  She looked at me, as she was sliding down the chair, and said, "Mama, this is NOT my favorite chair."  I almost died trying to stop from laughing.

Evan is such a good, happy baby.  He is a good sleeper for me too.  Something that Claire never was.

And together?  They are so loving.  Claire is such a nurturer and Evan just thinks the world of her.  I feel so constantly blessed.

  • I love how much B is babbling and talking now. Since her tubes last week we have seen a marked improvement. She looked at me and said "mama". She is also imitating sounds she hears, which she has never done. I'm very optimistic about her speech development now. As of 19 months, she had only 1 word but didn't label. Now she's trying to point and label and is trying words. I'm overly happy that the tubes made this big of a difference so quickly.

Speech starts today:) I have high hopes that she will start communicating by words very soon.

  • Rosie is into Santa, a few times a day she'll get all excited and say, "oh boy, Santa is making my toys RIGHT NOW!" I was singing Silent Night to her last night and when I sang, "Sleep in heavenly peace" Rosie asked why anyone would want to sleep in peas, because they're for eating.

Thomas is such a happy baby, always smiling and laughing.  He's not the best sleeper at night, but he takes 2 great naps a day in his crib which is awesome.

  • Gavin's really into playing on the computer lately...maybe too much!  He set all his dinosaurs up to play the other day and said to me, "Mom, if you want to play dinosaurs with me, click here.  Or, click here for other activities!"  I almost peed my pants laughing.
  • This might be kind of gross but I thought it was so "smart" of him...

Justin's favorite snack is Twist of Lime tostitos dipped in ketchup (I know <gag>), he calls them doritos. Well he had them before bed Tuesday night and got the stomach bug that night. Friday afternoon I asked if he wanted some doritos after lunch. He told me, "I can't eat doritos- they make you spit up". I tried to explain that he was just sick and I ate one to show him they were fine. OF COURSE that night the bug hits me.  I'm over the toilet and feel someone tap me on the shoulder. "Mommy? Are you spitting up? I said not to eat dortitos... see?"

  • Evan has great manners and I just love listening to him talk, day in and day out.  His voice is so cute.

Andrew just has the best smile...he is such a happy, smiley baby.

I just love both of my little guys to pieces!

  • DD is in a stage where I swear she grows up 2 months overnight! The other day she put her sneakers on all by herself-which we never have taught her how to do! Then last night she undressed herself fully which she has never done before. She's very into Christmas songs and sings so many of them already after hearing them only a few times-it's so cute!

  • Abby is talking up a storm lately.  She is even starting to say some sentences.  She came upstairs this weekend to get me since I was still in bed(my day to sleep in) and said "Mommy I miss you" and gave me a hug when I picked up to be on the bed.  She is also doing so well with potty training.  When we are at home all day, she is in underwear, she tells me when she has to go and almost always stays dry.

  • Wendy don't you love when they state the obvious? So cute.

We took the girls to see Santa at the mall on Friday night. Then on Saturday DH took Chelsea to a kid's movie night and Santa was there. He asked Chelsea what she wanted and she gave him quite a look and said, "Santa, I already TOLD you that YESTERDAY!" lol Santa recovered nicely and said oh yes, I remember now. Ha ha!

The other day we were at Target and had lunch there. After we finished Chelsea said, "Mommy, that was a fine lunch. Thank you for joining me." Too cute.

Molly is hitting a big "I want mama" phase. She will be playing or running around and suddenly just start yelling "Maaaaaammmmmaaaaaaa" and come flying at me for a hug and kiss. Once she gets her lovin' she takes right off again. Melts my heart!
