Baby Names

repost from 3rd tri..changing babys name at 35 weeks?

My name choice for my daughter hasn't been loved by all..Some love the name while others hate it..I know it's my choice and I do like the name, but now me and the husband heard a name that we both like.. I feel like we have both been referring to our little girl as "London" for so long now, it wouldn't feel right or the same to change it right before she is born..The name we heard that sounds good is "Aaliyah" (not sure if that's how I would spell it) but it fits well with our last name and I was even thinking London could be the middle name..but I'm still so unsure of what to do...anyone else have a similar problem?

London Elise Wright ?

London Aliyah Wright ?

Aleah London Wright ?

  • Also I feel like Aaliyah is a lot more common.. I also know a family friend's daughter with that name..

  • I think London is a gorgeous name, who cares what other people think? Don't change your mind just because it hasn't been loved by everyone! And I definitely prefer London over Aaliyah

  • We are going through the same thing with names and our baby will be here in 9 days!  We have decided to go in with two choices (a combo of the 3 names we like best) and then decide for sure when we see the baby.  You could always decide between London and Aleah when you see her.  London Elise is my favorite of the three.  Good luck!

  • I don't like any of those.

LO had a girl name right from the beginning, but the boy name wasn't settled until we were on the way to the hospital.

  • I like London Elise, very pretty!

I like that it's unique without being youneek.  If that makes sense.

  • Neither name is my cup of tea, but I would stick with the name that I had been using throughout the pregnancy.

  • A lot of people turned up their nose at the idea of 'Levi' and most really didn't like the middle name possibility of 'Maximas'.  But once he was born, it was perfect for him.  You go with the name that you want.  I personally feel like this is why we were team green and had a list of four or so names for both genders.  My coworker was calling her unborn son Reese the whole pregnancy, and then he was named Alexander at birth.  They just felt like he was an Alexander.  I say have a few names picked out and don't tell anyone one specific name.

  • I like London Elise best.

I am not a fan of the name Aliyah/Aaliyah and definitely do not like Aleah. Aleah just looks wrong to me.

And Aliyah/Aaliyah reminds me of the singer that died in a plane crash on Aug. 25, 2001. I wasn't a fan but it sticks out in my head because I was on a plane flying home from a concert when I heard about it and then 9-11 happened a few weeks later.

  • Love London Elise!
