who got a push gift?

I asked this in the 3rd tri board, but thought I'd ask here as well. Did DH get you ladies "push" gifts? If so, what did y'all get? How common is this anyway?

I had never heard of it until SIL asked me last night if DH was getting me a push gift and now I want one... need to start dropping hints as I could go into labor any day now!

I got the juicy couture diaper bag I had been wanting, a tiffanys bracelet with DD inital engraved on it and a pair of Uggs!

I plan on passing the bracelet on when she is older

not really a push present, but DH got me a ring with my birthstone and my children's birth stones on either side (we are not having any more kids). I love it!

My DH got me a ring with opal (her birthstone) and garnets (LO name is Scarlett) and an opal necklace because he said he couldnt decide which to get.

I got a ring with LOs birthstone in it...but I had a C-section, so I don't know if it can be called a "push" present...but honestly, I didn't want a present-it made me feel bad to get one when I didn't get him anything. The baby really should be the present, anything else is just a bonus.

I hate referring to it as a push present, but DH did get me a beautiful pink sapphire ring (I already had blue and we knew DD was a girl). It was also my birthday present (in August), but he didn't buy it until Sept 1 b/c DD had been threatening to come early since July.

I had it engraved a few weeks ago with DD's birthday, and it will be hers some day.

Silver necklace with 3 little diamonds to represent the 3 of us. He gave it to me about 2 months before she was born though, so I don't know if it counts as a "push" present.

My husband bought me an iPhone 4S right before our son was born and joked that it was my "push present".. then when I had to have a c-section I asked if I had to give it back since I never had the opportunity to push.

LOL....I got a Mountain Dew because it is my favorite soda and I stopped drinking it while pregnant and a card. Prudence got a birthday card (which i thought was very sweet of my husband to do). The baby is my push gift. I do plan on getting a bracelet once we have a little more money (finances are tight due to me not working right now)

Yes...totally wasn't expecting it after a hard, terrible labor. I was delusional but DH got me the other wedding band for my wedding set Diamonds....can't go wrong

Oh and did just get a 2012 Honda Pilot...LOVE it!

I did! I should show Dh this post because he thinks I made the term up just to get a present. ha! He bought me an ipad. He gave it to me early and it was great to have during labor. I shopped the whole time. I had an awesome epidural!

I do think the push present title is a little weird too...I don't consider it a gift for pushing out a baby, rather a keepsake or reminder of my LO. DH bought me a necklace that is shaper like a heart and has her birthstone in the middle. The two halves of the heart kinda look like people holding the stone (its supposed to represent family)

I know people who got push presents. When I brought it up to MH he laughed at me.

I did ask for a necklace with LO's birthstone on a pendant for Christmas. I'd like to be able to add a second pendant for the next LO. MH is very clear that it will NOT be a push present.

The responses that "the baby is all the gift I need" get a big eye roll from me. Of COURSE the baby him or herself is the whole point and all you need, but I for one would never turn down a thoughtful gift from DH to commemorate a life-changing event for our family. I haven't gotten it yet, but he's told me he's having some jewelry custom made with DS's birthstone (he had earrings made for me when DD was born).

My push present was the baby. lol

However, H did get me flowers and bring me up a very large container of lemonade for after L&D. He knew I was craving it all throughout my pregnancy and it was heaven to drink over ice. He also brought me some graham crackers. I felt like this was all a thoughtful "push present" because it was something that he knew I would really like.

I have never been a fan of jewelry anyway, but its really sweet to read all about the shiny bits that others have gotten. Wink

Haha, I did, though DH didn't understand.

I came home from the hospital to a new set of Calphalon cookware. I said, "Oh, you got me a push present!" To which DH looked at me weird and said, "What?!"

I guess he was just being a nice guy. Smile
